Apply for a play street

A Play Street is an event where a road is closed to traffic for a few hours on a regular basis.

Before you start

Sending this application form does not mean you automatically have permission to run a Play Street.

Play Streets must take place on Saturday or Sunday. You can contact us for extra days like 'car free day' or special closures in the school holidays.

You cannot hold a Play Street more than once a month.

Do not complete this form if you want to plan a one-off Play Street or street party. Find out how to host a one-off event

For details on how Ealing Council processes personal data, read our privacy notice

You will need

  • name of the road (or part of the road) to be closed
  • how often you want to hold your Play Street
  • day and times of the Play Street

What happens next

We will email you to tell you that your Play Street can go ahead and send extra information that you will need to run the event.

As the organiser, you need to contact your neighbours to tell them about the Play Street and fill in the form we will send you.

We will also apply for a traffic management order for you. This takes around 8 weeks. You can then run your Play Street all year round.
