Dormers Wells Primary School
We are developing a project to make the area outside Dormers Wells Primary School safer and more pleasant for everyone, and we would like your help.
This project aims to help children feel safer on their school journey, increase walking, cycling and other forms of active travel, and improve air quality at peak times, without restricting access for motorists.
For the design of this project, we need to understand the issues people face outside the school gates at the start and end of the school day. We are asking residents, parents, carers, school staff and the children themselves to tell us about their local area. Their feedback will help us identify possible solutions and consider any changes that could make a difference and improve the area.
We organised a drop in event at the school and ran an online survey to give everyone the opportunity to share their views and ideas.
Next steps
We are reviewing the feedback to understand what people said. Consultants will use this to develop the design proposals.
At the drop-in event and through completion of the survey, people were invited to join a working group. The group will meet to discuss the feedback and design proposals before we finalise the details.
We will update this page when the final designs have been approved and we are ready to complete the project. We hope to begin installation of the improvements during the school’s summer break.
