New controlled parking zones in Greenford

In December 2024, Ealing Council proposed a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) in Greenford South and Greenford Town Centre to address high parking demand and improve local traffic conditions.

A CPZ is a designated area where on-street parking is regulated, prioritising spaces for residents, businesses, and their visitors.

The engagement process

The public engagement period ran from 13 November 2024 to 5 December 2024, with information leaflets delivered to 6,874 households and businesses across both proposed zones. The engagement included hard copy response forms and an online survey, to make sure all residents could access.

Detailed maps of the proposed zones were provided, along with information about potential operational hours, permit costs, and enforcement practices.

What were the results of the engagement?

The council received 3,801 response and the engagement report shows that most residents do not support the current proposals.

The council will not proceed with plans at this time.

What happens next?

The council will continue to monitor local parking conditions.

Looking ahead, it is likely that parking demand in the area will continue to increase, and CPZs remain a proven tool for improving parking for residents, businesses and visitors, as well as helping to reduce congestion and air pollution.

The council remain committed to engaging with communities to shape any future CPZ proposals.

Parking management will also play a key role in supporting the borough’s wider transport objectives — including improving air quality, promoting active and sustainable travel, and creating safer, more accessible neighbourhoods.
