This consultation will be open until 24 April 2023.
Introduction
This consultation is seeking your views on proposals in Greenford Road between Coston’s Lane and the A40 Western Avenue. These will include a northbound bus lane, conversion of the existing zebra crossing near Cowgate Road into a signal crossing, a southbound cycle lane and new bus stop layout to improve journey times for buses and safety of all road users, especially pedestrians and cyclists.
The proposal is being developed as part of Ealing Council’s transport strategy and Transport for London’s (TfL) strategy to promote sustainable transport across the borough.
A previous public consultation with residents and key stakeholders was undertaken in January 2020, including the conversion of the existing zebra crossing outside the ambulance station to a signalised crossing. Following a careful review with TfL, it is recommended to relocate the crossing south of the ambulance station (south of access to properties behind the station) to improve visibility for vehicles using this access.
A traffic modelling exercise was carried out to assess the impact of these proposals, which estimated a significant improvement of bus journey times at peak times.
