Libraries
We have a variety of volunteering roles available in our local libraries, from helping promote the Summer Reading Challenge to children, selling second-hand books, to helping out with events. Availability of these roles vary throughout the year, and from branch to branch.
Most of our volunteer roles require a weekly time commitment of a few hours, during library opening hours. We also have some roles with a more flexible time commitment, such as joining our 'volunteer pool', for ad hoc help with events.
Volunteers must be 18 years and over.

Sport and leisure
Although the council does not directly offer volunteer opportunities in sports and leisure, there are many volunteering opportunities in sport. More information can be found on the volunteering and careers in sport page.
