Your organisation could access grant funding to make community and faith buildings cheaper to run, warmer in winter, cooler in summer, and better able to cope with extreme weather.
The Better Spaces fund offers grants of up to £10,000 for community and faith groups. This is intended for improvements to lower energy costs, and to help adapt to the impacts of climate change. Your building could use this money for things like:
- shutters and awnings
- solar panels
- double glazing or insulation
- LED lighting upgrades
- heat pumps
- solar film on windows
Previously called community climate grants, the council has awarded over £165,000 in grants so far. This has been matched with more than £100,000 of additional investment from communities. This shows how much people want to take action, because we can make our buildings better, create a fairer borough, and tackle climate change all at the same time.
Applications are open from 22 September to 15 November 2026.
The fund has a record £100,000 available. Grants will be given to organisations meeting set criteria, with priority given to groups in Northolt, Southall and Greenford if oversubscribed.
