Climate change means the weather is acting differently than it used to. Things like temperature, rain, wind, and humidity are changing more often and sometimes in stronger or more extreme ways.
We have seen more:
- very hot days
- rain and floods
- expensive food
Why is it important?
The United Nations reported in 2018 that we have to act very quickly and make big changes to protect ourselves and the planet from the most dangerous effects of climate change.
A group of scientists called the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) wrote a report on the climate emergency, and said it is “now or never” to fix the climate crisis.
