Apply for an essential user staff parking permit

If you are a staff member at Ealing Council, who visits locations within Ealing borough as part of your work duties, you can apply for an essential user boroughwide permit online.

Before you start

Do not apply if you are not a staff member at Ealing Council.

The only payment accepted for this application is an internal journal form.

Essential user parking permits cost £400 a year.

How the permit works

You can park:

  • In pay and display bays for a maximum of three hours with no return within two hours. This does not include pay and display bays on Longfield Avenue, W5, car parks or commuter parking bays
  • In any available residents or shared use parking space within a controlled parking zone (CPZ) for a maximum of three hours
  • On single and double yellow lines for a maximum of one hour.

You cannot park:

  • Where a loading ban is in place
  • In stop and shop or other specific bays eg disabled
  • In a way that causes obstruction.

We do not give individual parking spaces to any vehicle.

You will need

  • Business case
  • Registration number, colour, make and model of vehicle
  • Approved internal journal form.

Uploading supporting documents

You will be asked to upload the business case and the internal journal form.

  • Accepted file types: Word (docx), Acrobat (pdf), Excel (xlsx), Plain text (txt).
  • Zip files cannot be uploaded.
  • We also accept photos taken on phones and tablets and the following image file types - jpeg, gif, png.
  • There is a maximum individual file size per document of 50MB.

What happens next

You will get confirmation of your new permit reference number in My Account, within 10 working days.

Vehicle specific permits are virtual (paperless), so you do not need to display anything in your vehicle.

Permits that are not for a specific vehicle registration number (sometimes known as ‘various’) will be printed to be collected by staff or posted to the address you gave on the form. Please do not park in the controlled parking zone until you have received your permit.

This form should take approximately three minutes to complete.
