Ealing School Streets consultation on new schemes

This consultation has ended.

The consultation

A School Street is a scheme where the roads outside or near a school are closed to most motorised traffic, at school opening and closing times. Ealing's School Streets maintain access for residents and businesses located within the school street scheme, and pedestrians and cyclists.

Ealing Council implemented 12 experimental schemes for 14 schools last Autumn. These schemes have removed unnecessary vehicular traffic from outside the school gates at the start and end of the school day, and created an environment which encourages children to walk, scooter or cycle to school, with the added benefit of improving air quality and road safety in the local area.

We hope to deliver eight new schemes in September 2021 and we are asking all stakeholders for their views on Ealing School Streets.

Your views

We invite your views on implementation of an Ealing School Street in your local area by completing a short survey. These views will be taken into consideration when deciding to progress each scheme and, if we do, they will help us plan and deliver the experimental scheme.

This consultation will close on 14 June 2021.

What happens next?

The survey outcomes will be included in an officer decision report to be submitted to the council’s cabinet in summer 2021.
