Public spaces protection order

A public spaces protection order aims to improve the quality of life for residents.  It gives power to council enforcement officers and police to deter trouble and deal with persistent problems based on what people living in, working in and visiting the borough are telling us affects them.

PSPOs ban problematic behaviour. People who refuse to abide by the prohibitions when challenged will be subject to a £100 fixed penalty notice. If the fine is not paid, court proceedings may begin, which can increase the fine to up to £1,000.
