Healthy children

Healthy child programme

Ealing Council offers services to help children get a healthy start in life.

These services support parents and carers and help children stay healthy, happy and develop well.

Support for families with young children

Health visitors and Family Nurse Partnership services can support parents during the first years of their child's life. They can give advice on health, development and parenting.

Ealing 0-5 Know How has useful information for parents and carers of children under 5.

The council’s children’s centres offer activities and support to help young children learn, grow and stay healthy.

The school nursing service gives children and young people of state-funded schools in the borough support with their health needs.

Child weight management

The ALFIE programme is for children aged 5 to 13 who are above a healthy weight.

Families can join if they live, work or go to school in the borough. The programme helps children and families:

  • eat more healthily
  • be more active
  • make positive lifestyle changes
