Parking scam messages

Scam warning on fake parking text messages

We have been made aware of a scam text message falsely claiming you have an outstanding Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) or parking fine to pay. These messages are designed to trick you into clicking on malicious links that lead to fake websites, aiming to steal your personal details or money.

Important to know

  • We will never contact you by text message about a PCN
  • All of our PCNs will start with the reference - "AO" or "EA"
  • You can check if you have any outstanding PCNs and make sure it has been issued by Ealing Council

What to do if you receive a scam text

If you have received this text or a similar one, please report it to the National Cyber Security Centre at report@phishing.gov.uk or by forwarding it for free to 7726.
