TerraCycle
Thank you to everyone who has supported Ealing Council's partnership with TerraCycle for the past year.
We have reviewed the service and are making it easier for you to recycle by changing the way materials are collected at the Greenford Reuse and Recycling Centre.
You no longer need to request a recycling label online. Simply bring your sorted items for recycling.
You can now recycle the items listed for the following TerraCycle programmes:
- The Pringles® Tube Free Collection Programme - for Pringle Tubes with the metal bases only
- no other brands or tube will be accepted
- The pladis Biscuits and Snacks Free Recycling Programme - please recycle all brands of plastic biscuit wrappers, all brands of plastic cake wrappers and all brands of plastic cracker wrappers
- do not try to recycle paper or foil wrappers in with these
- The Taylors Coffee and Yorkshire Tea Free Recycling Programme - please recycle all brands of coffee bean pouches, individual coffee bag sachets, ground coffee pouches, bulk bags of tea bags, loose leaf tea packs
- do not recycle coffee capsules, coffee grounds, cardboard packaging, tea bags or individual tea bag sachets
- The Philips Dental Care Free Recycling Programme - please recycle plastic toothbrushes, electric toothbrush heads, electric flosser nozzles, flossing sticks and interdental brushes and dental floss containers
- this is not for battery or electric toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes, dental floss or cardboard packaging
At Greenford, put the correct items into the labelled bins. For example, only Pringles Tubes should go in the bin with the Pringles Tubes label.
All the recycling collected in these bins is sorted by hand which can be very unpleasant if the wrong items are put in there.
Recycling with TerraCycle can also raise funds for local charities. These items are recycled by cleaning, shredding and then turned into plastic pellets to create new plastic products.
