Environmental art competition for children

The recycling team are delighted to announce the winners of the environmental art competition for children, 5-16.

An overwhelming number of entries were received representing the theme ‘What looking after the environment means to me.’ Entries ranged from depictions of caring for animals natural habitats and using environmental modes of transport, to more abstract pieces about keeping our earth beautiful.

Ten entries in each age category (5-10 and 11-16) have been selected and will go on display on new recycling bins, to be installed in parks across the borough this summer. The artwork will help to spread the message of environmental protection to residents, as well as giving the recycling bins a fresh and unique look.

A grand prize winner in each category has also been selected who will receive their choice of a fun family day trip.

Keep an eye out for the new recycling bins adorned with childrens artwork throughout parks this summer.

Thank you to all who entered the competition. Please see the full list of all entries which have been selected for display.
