Plans and policies are subject to several regimes of assessment incorporating European Directives and UK legislation. These assessments are made in order to ensure that the environmental, social and economic implications of the Local Plan (formerly known as LDF) documents are predicted and managed as comprehensively as is possible. A brief summary of these assessments is provided below.
