We aim to plant 50,000 trees between 2023 and 2025. We have partnered up with the charity, Trees for Streets, who run the national street tree sponsorship scheme. The aim of this scheme is to connect communities with trees, the environment, and their neighbourhood.

Visit the Trees for Streets website to choose where the tree will be planted and for confirmation that it can be planted there.
You may want to fill a gap outside your house, or maybe outside a local school. You choose.
How it works
- You send your sponsorship request with your donation payment details (no payment is taken until your sponsorship is confirmed).
- The council’s tree team check the location to confirm if it is suitable.
- If all is OK, you will be asked to donate either £170 if you water the tree, or £275 if we water the tree.
- An instant impact 2.5 to 3 metre tree will be planted by our contractor, between November and March.
Deadline
The deadline for sponsorship requests is 6 December for planting by the end of March the following year. This gives us enough time to confirm the location, order the tree, and schedule the contractor.
You can take on the job of watering your tree. Trees for Streets will send you weekly reminders during the summer for the first three seasons.
