Cultural Education Partnership (CEP)

CEPs are cross-sector, strategic partnerships that work together to improve cultural education for children and young people (0-25yrs) in their local area. CEPs support children and young people to fulfil their creative potential and access high-quality cultural experiences where they live, where they go to school, and where they spend their free time. Partners come together to drive a more joined-up cultural education offer, share resources, and improve the visibility of cultural education in their local area.

While all CEPs are working together towards the same goal, each CEP is very different. They are all locally driven and rooted in the specific challenges and opportunities of their place.

Youth collectives

Our ambition is for our Cultural Education Partnership to be youth driven. To make this possible, we want to set up youth collectives in the towns of the borough.

We carried out a pilot project of youth collectives in three towns in the borough in Summer/Autumn 2022. Young people in Acton, Greenford and Northolt were given funding and support towards creating an event or piece of public art for their immediate local area.

The young people took part in upskilling workshop sessions. These gave them the tools they needed to complete the project successfully. They were trained in Peer Consultation and use these skills to gather thoughts from peers and the wider local youth community to feed into the development of the final piece.

This project was developed by the CEP’s Youth Advisory Group which was established in the Autumn 2021.

We would like to thank the team at Bollo Brook for facilitating the pilot project and working with us to develop the larger scale Youth Collectives programme, which we will be fundraising for in 2023.

Arts charter

We have developed an arts charter for all Ealing schools. This list of 11 points acts as an arts policy for most schools that did not have one. They can also be added to an existing policy. Schools will be able to easily find any gaps and join a structured programme of support sessions and mentoring from the CEP team to help develop creative learning in their school. We will officially launch the Arts Charter early 2023.

Ealing’s CEP was set up in early 2021 and would like to thank Ealing Council, Young Ealing Foundation, John Lyon’s Charity and Challenge London Legacy Funding for their generous support.
