Council tax bills for the upcoming tax year are issued every March. If there are any changes in your council tax liability, for example due to a change of address, names of liable persons or a change in entitlement to a discount, exemption, council tax reduction or other relief, amended bills may be issued throughout the year.
Instead of receiving a paper council tax bill, you can choose paperless billing. You would then receive notifications by email that a new bill is available to view or download via the council’s My Account.
You may switch to paperless billing by accessing My Account. Please log in, or register for an account if you have not already done so.
You can also set up a Direct Debit by using this service; which gives you the option of alternative payment dates.
Paperless billing allows you to see your bill immediately when it is issued, saves paper and helps reduce the council’s costs and the level of the council tax. Bills viewable and downloadable on our My Account are valid legal documents.

One-time verification for council tax and business rates
When you next log in, you will be prompted to verify your account.
You will be asked to confirm a few digits from:
- your mobile phone number - last 3 digits
- your bank account details if you pay by direct debit - last 3 digits of account number
- the online key - reference found on your latest bill
- your postcode - please include a space (example: W5 2HL)
This verification step is only required once.
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) security
Each time you want to access your online account, you will receive an email with a unique verification code.
You must use that code to complete your authentication.
Please make sure you check your junk folder in your email.
eBilling enrolment
When you complete re-registration, you will automatically be enrolled in eBilling, which provides email notifications whenever a new bill is issued. This means that you will no longer receive paper bills by post.
If you prefer to receive your bills by post, you will need to untick the eBlling option in your account settings or contact us directly.
