Description of the events
Resident Housing Forum
This is the main engagement body for tenants and leaseholders. The forum is held quarterly and is charied by the Cabinet Member for Safe and Genuinely Affordable Homes. The aim of the forum is to bring together residents, elected members and housing managers to improve housing services. There is an average of 14 residents at each meeting representing various resident groups.
Housing and You
These events are run to make housing services more accessible to residents. A wide range of housing services run stalls and residents are invited to meet the teams and raise any issues. They are run twice a year at:
- Greenford Town Hall for council residents in the west of the borough
- Perceval House for council residents in the east of the borough
Resident engagement network
An information sharing network, enabling residents to find out more about council services and how they can become more involved. The events cover a range of housing related topics and residents can attend at Perceval House or online.
Estate Action Days
We hold 4 estate action days each year. Housing services run an estate walkabout in advance of the action day which residents are invited to attend. A range of housing services attend the walkabout. Abandoned vehicles are identified and action is taken to remove them. Communal areas are inspected and any actions needed are recorded and tracked. For the action day a range of housing services run stalls and residents are invited to attend to discuss any issues.
Customer access workshops
We run a series of customer access workshops where engaged residents attend and review the accessibility of housing services and make recommendations for service improvements. Residents have reviewed the accessibility of the housing content on the council website, the effectiveness of the website translation tool, the functionality of MyAccount, accessibility of housing hubs and how the housing service meets the diverse needs of our residents.
ROAR
Recognising Outstanding Achievements of Residents award ceremony. Residents are nominated for awards for contribution to the community. There are various award categories including a young persons award.
Resident mystery shopping
A group of resident volunteers carry out mystery shopping of housing services and report back to the Resident Housing Forum. They carry our mystery shopping of housing services through phone calls, site visits and observations. If you would like to become a resident mystery shopper please let us know.
Winter quiz for older residents in partnership with Wiser Heads and CASH
Wiser Heads is a resident led group which represents our older council residents who do not live in sheltered housing.
CASH is a resident led group which represents our sheltered residents.
