Health and wellbeing strategy

Together in Ealing is our plan from 2023 to 2028 to help people stay healthy and happy.

This plan was made after listening to local people about what matters most for their health and wellbeing. The Health and Wellbeing Board (HWB) led this work. The HWB is a group that includes the council, the NHS, and local organisations. They all work together to make life healthier and fairer for everyone in the borough of Ealing.

The plan considers all the things that help people live healthy and happy lives. These are called the “building blocks of health.” They include having a safe and affordable home, green spaces, good schools, secure jobs, enough money, access to services, friends and family for support, and feeling part of the community.

The borough is made up of diverse communities, but not everyone has the same chances in life. Some people have worse health or fewer opportunities. That is why this plan focuses on fairness and health for all. We want everyone, no matter where they live or their background, to have the chance to do well.

The plan will help the council and its partners work better together, share information, and connect with local communities. This plan supports Ealing Council’s promise to fight inequality and works with NHS plans to reduce gaps in health and wellbeing.

Together in Ealing promises to:

  • put communities at the centre by listening and learning from local people
  • make sure services meet the needs of all communities so no one is left out and everyone has a fair chance to be healthy
  • work with partners to improve the building blocks of health and reduce unfair differences in health and wellbeing between groups

Over the 5 years of the plan, the HWB will develop and deliver actions with partners and communities. We will build on good work already happening and keep talking to people in all 7 towns in the borough.
