Council elections 7 May 2026

Local council elections will be held on Thursday 7 May 2026 from 7am until 10pm.

This is when all eligible electors will be able to vote on who will be their local councillors for Ealing Council for the next 4 years. 

There are 24 wards:

  • 22 wards with 3 councillors representing the ward
  • 2 wards with 2 councillors representing the ward

To vote in this election you must:

  • be registered to vote within one of the 24 wards within Ealing borough, the last date to register is midnight on Monday 20 April 2026
  • be 18 or over on the day of the election (polling day)
  • be a British, Irish, Commonwealth or qualifying EU citizen

If you are not registered to vote, please register online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote

It takes around 5 minutes to register, and residents will need their date of birth and national insurance number.

The registration deadline is midnight on Monday 20 April 2026.

Voting by post or proxy

If you are not able to vote in person at your local polling station on election day, you can apply for a postal or proxy vote

The deadline to apply for a new postal vote, or to change or cancel an existing postal or proxy vote, is 5pm on Tuesday 21 April 2026.

The deadline to apply for a new proxy vote, where a voter nominates a registered eligible person to vote for them, is 5pm on Tuesday 28 April 2026.
