Notice is hereby given that a casual vacancy exists for the office of councillor for the Hanger Hill ward of Ealing Council.
The Hanger Hill ward by-election will take place on Thursday 10 October 2024.
To vote in this by-election you must be:
- registered to vote within the Hanger Hill ward; the last date to register is midnight on Tuesday 24 September 2024
- 18 or over on the day of the election (polling day)
- a British, Irish, Commonwealth or EU citizen

If you are not registered to vote, you can register online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
You will need your national insurance number to complete the application.
If you do not have a national insurance number, you may still be able to register by supplying proof of identity. Information on the registration process
The deadline to receive completed registrations is midnight on Tuesday 24 September 2024.
Voter photo ID needed in polling stations
You now need to show photo ID to vote in person at polling stations.
If you do not have accepted photo ID, you can apply for a free voter photo ID document, called a 'Voter Authority Certificate'

The deadline to receive completed applications for Voter Authority Certificates is 5pm on Wednesday 2 October 2024.
Voting by post or proxy
If you are unable to vote in person at your local polling station on election day you can apply for a postal or proxy vote
The deadline to apply for a postal vote, or to amend or cancel an existing postal or proxy vote, is 5pm on Wednesday 25 September 2024.
The deadline to apply for a new proxy vote, where a voter nominates a registered eligible person to cast a vote on their behalf, is 5pm on Wednesday 2 October 2024.
