The consultation
We are proposing to permanently increase the capacity of John Chilton school to 160 places. The school has a planned capacity of 130 pupils, while the current number on roll is 157.
John Chilton has a borough-wide catchment and provides education for pupils who may have moderate to severe learning difficulties as a primary need, as well as a dual diagnosis to their medical or physical needs.

What happens next
All comments and objections from this consultation, and responses from the earlier consultation will be shared with cabinet members who will decide on the proposals. The decision is expected at the cabinet meeting on 3 September 2025.
