Consultation on licensing privately rented properties in Ealing

This consultation will close on 2 August 2021.

The consultation

Ealing Council is seeking your views on new property licensing proposals which will continue to improve the standards of privately rented property in the borough. 

We are proposing to introduce a new additional licensing scheme which will apply to houses in multiple occupation (HMOs) across the whole borough as well as a new selective licensing scheme which will apply to all privately rented properties in 15 wards of the borough.

Your views

We want to hear the views of all residents, tenants, landlords, managing or letting agents, organisations and businesses on our proposals. Please make sure to read the following documents:

Throughout the survey you will be able to click on links to see more detailed information about the proposals. Some questions are compulsory and these are used to ensure that only relevant further questions are shown to you based on your responses. Paper copies of the survey are also available on request. 

This consultation will close on 2 August 2021.

Virtual public meeting

You can also tell the council your views by attending a live virtual public meeting. The meetings will take place from 7–8.30pm on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, 9 June for tenants living in private rented properties
  • Wednesday, 16 June for landlords and managing and letting agents renting out private rented properties
  • Wednesday, 23 June for all other residents living in the borough and local businesses

The meetings will be run on the council’s behalf by HQN, an independent company. To book your place at a meeting, please contact HQN via the details below.

What happens next?

Your views will be taken into consideration and changes made, if necessary, to the final proposals. The final proposals will be submitted to the council’s cabinet in autumn 2021.
