If you have premises or place of worship that you would like to use as a venue for marriage or civil partnership you will need a licence.
Civil marriage venues
To licence a venue for civil marriages, contact the superintendent registrar for the application forms.
Fees
- £800 for a 3 year licence for up to 2 rooms
- £1,000 for a 3 year licence for 3 or more rooms
Once licensed, marriages can take place at the venue in the presence of the registrar from the Ealing Register Office.
Places of worship
Trustees can apply on behalf of the congregation.
To register a place of worship for marriages you need to:
- complete 2 copies of the form 76 on GOV.UK
- complete 2 copies of the form 78 on GOV.UK
- contact the superintendent registrar
You will also need to have at least 20 households in the congregation sign confirming they would like their place of worship to be authorised for marriage celebrations.
Fees
- £32 for registration as a place of worship
- £136 for authorisation to conduct marriage
Once approved, couples can get married at their place of worship if they live in the borough or go there regularly.
