Dirty food containers - Polystyrene containers and pizza boxes

Grease from pizza boxes causes oil to form at the top of the surface which results in the paper fibres not separating from the oils during the recycling process. When the water is squeezed out at the end to form new paper, it has spots and holes in it and so can’t be used. Any food packaging made from polystyrene cannot be recycled. Both should be disposed of in your rubbish bin.
Any foil food containers should be rinsed and can be recycled from home.
