Low traffic neighbourhoods

Low traffic neighbourhoods (LTN) work by closing roads to through-traffic using residential roads to avoid main roads. In Ealing, these are usually marked by planters (wooden boxes of plants and flowers) at the end of the road. Local residents, blue badge holders and emergency vehicles are still allowed to drive through. 

LTNs help make it safer and easier to walk and cycle. They also improve the quality of the area, reducing air and noise pollution and road danger.
