School governors and clerks

Governors are the largest group of volunteers in the country. They lead schools and help to make sure every child gets a good education.

Governor services

The school governance service offers advice, information, networks and training for governing boards and clerks.

Services include:

  • training programmes for governors and clerks on their responsibilities and local or national initiatives, with tailored sessions available
  • half termly directors reports which tells governors about current educational developments within the borough and nationally
