Councillors scheme of allowances

Councillors get a basic payment to support their work as members of the local authority. They can also claim certain expenses like travel costs.

Councillors with a specific role may also receive special responsibility pay. 

According to regulation 15(3) of the Local Authorities (Members' Allowances) (England) Regulations 2003, the following documents are available to view:

  • allowance plan for each year set by the council
  • total amount paid to each member of the council for that year
