Ealing was part of the build-up to the London 2012 Olympics when the Olympic torch relay came to the borough on Tuesday 24 July.
Ealing was also chosen to host the Torch for one of only six overnight stops in London en route to the Olympic Stadium opening ceremony. To celebrate this, an evening of free, family entertainment was held at Walpole Park for the 8,000 people who held tickets.
