Repairs - private housing

Your responsibility for repairs depends on what needs repairing, the type of repair and what is stated in the tenancy agreement. If you have any doubts about who is responsible, see your tenancy agreement.

Please note: those owning the freehold to a private property are responsible for all repairs. If you have an old property you may be eligible for a grant to subsidise the cost of repairs.
