Statement of Community Involvement (SCI)

Statement of Community Involvement 2006

Ealing Council has an adopted statement of community involvement, to set out arrangements for involving the community in all parts of the Local Plans (formerly known as LDF) and in development control decisions. This was adopted by full council on 20 June 2006 and came into operation on this date.

A draft version of the document was published for public participation in June 2005. Interested individuals and organisations made representations and the council responded. A revised version of the statement of community involvement was produced for submission to the Planning Inspectorate for public examination under section 20 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004.

Comments were then invited on the Submission SCI, and a total of 20 organisations/individuals made representations to the inspector. The SCI was then subject to independent examination by a government inspector. The inspector’s report (April 06) found the SCI to be ‘sound’, subject to a number of amendments.  The Statement of Community Involvement (with amendments) was adopted by full council and came into operation on 20 June 2006.
