Travel assistance policy consultation

The consultation originally ran from 16 June to 24 July 2015, then reopened between 1 September to 9 October 2015.

The consultation

Ealing Council has reviewed its Home to Place of Learning Travel Policy and is seeking your views on the revised policy.  The policy applies to:

  • children and young people age 0-25 with statements of SEN or education health and care plans attending educational institutions
  • early years children attending children’s centres (under 5 years)
  • pupils age 5-16 attending mainstream schools
  • learners of sixth-form age (16-18);
  • learners with learning difficulties and disabilities age 18-24.

What you said

It was important that we got your comments and ideas so that we could use them to make additional changes before finalising the policy.

The draft policy was previously made available on the Ealing Council website for consultation in June/July 2015.  However, we were aware that some service users may not have been informed of this, which is why we reopened this survey.

The consultation originally ran from 16 June to 24 July 2015, then reopened between 1 September to 9 October 2015.

The proposed travel assistance policy is still available to read however results have not been published yet. Please contact the author of this survey for more information.

What happens next?

Following the consultation, we will consider any comments received before finalising the policy.  A report will then be submitted for consideration by Cabinet on 24 November 2015.  If agreed, the new policy will be applied to all new applicants and to any reassessments for current service users from 1 January 2016.
