Red weather warning for London

A red warning means there could be a threat to life.  It is then expected to be downgraded to Amber later on.

The council will continue to deliver critical services today, supporting vulnerable people in the borough.

We are currently experiencing a high volume of calls into our customer service centre due to the extreme weather conditionsr.  If your call is not an emergency please refer to the relevant area of the council’s website or call back next week. 

Waste and recycling collections have taken place today but five roads were unable to be collected and will be revisited tomorrow, Saturday, 19 February.

Recycling collections:

  • Wilsmere Drive UB5
  • Newbury Way UB5
  • Newbury Drive UB5
  • Cartmel Court UB5

All libraries, golf courses, Hanwell Zoo and Gunnersbury Park are closed today. The mobile testing units at Gurnell Leisure Centre and Featherstone Terrace Car Park are also closed today.

Greenford Park Cemetery will also be closed over the weekend due to fallen trees which pose a risk to any visitors.

The following sports centres and outdoor sports areas are also closed today:

  • Swift Road outdoor sports centre
  • Perivale Park Athletics Track
  • Southall Sports Centre

Outdoor areas at:

  • Northolt High School Sports Centre
  • Greenford Sports Centre
  • Reynolds Sports Centre
  • Twyford Sports Centre
  • Elthorne Sports Centre

Indoor facilities are operating as normal.
