“A member of our staff was physically attacked at Greenford re-use and recycling centre on Monday, 1 June by four assailants who demanded access to the site at 4pm.
“While I recognise that there may be long queues to access the borough’s waste centres, there is no excuse for physical or verbal assault of staff doing their best to ensure social distance is observed.
“We are working with the police to identify the assailants and the car they used, and encourage anyone who witnessed the incident to provide details to the police. We take any assault on members of our staff very seriously and will prosecute.
“I would like to pass on my best wishes for a quick recovery to individual member of staff assaulted and those that witnessed the assault. And to thank them for all the work they are doing under these difficult circumstances.”
If you witnessed the incident please call the police on 101 and quote CAD 4776.
