Ealing Council supports COVID-19 testing

Appointments must be made via the government website

People eligible for testing include:

  • all essential workers who work for the NHS or in a care home with or without symptoms
  • other essential workers with symptoms
  • anyone over 5 with symptoms
  • anyone with symptoms whose work cannot be done from home (for example, construction workers, shop workers, emergency plumbers and delivery drivers)
  • anyone who has symptoms of coronavirus and lives with any of those identified above.

Appointment times will be available when choosing a time slot using the booking portal. Book an appointment via the government website

Mobile testing units are moving around London and one of the sites that will be used from time to time is Gurnell Leisure Centre.  When in Ealing the unit, which will be staffed by members of the Army, will be located in the car park next to the leisure centre in Ruislip Road East, Ealing W13 0AL.  Dates for when the mobile unit will be in the borough will be published as soon as the council is notified of them*.

Those eligible to be tested do not have to wait until the mobile unit visits this borough, testing centres are available across London.  If you meet the eligibility criteria and can comfortably attend for a test in another part of London, please go online and make an appointment.

Please remember that social distancing rules must be followed at test centres. If driving, the person, or someone they live with, must have a car to get to the test centre. The person remains in the car and provides a swab. A video explaining the process for drive-through testing is available on the GOV.UK page.

A limited number of home test kits are also available for people unable to visit a testing centre.
