Resurfacing work at Springbridge carpark to begin

This work will take around two months to complete.

Springbridge permit holders will therefore be able to park on the ground floor during the time that works are being carried out. Two roads, Hamilton Road and North Common Road, located within controlled parking zone A, will also be open to these permit holders to park until 31 March 2020.

It involves resurfacing levels 6 and 7 of the car park and a number of structural repairs around the whole building. Therefore from between 10 and 29 February no bays on these levels will be available to park in and after this, there will be a reduced capacity until the completion of the work.

During the second phase of the work, around 40% of the bays on this level will be made available through to the end of the project.

Levels 1 to 5 will be available to park in as normal, and for the duration of the works, level 1 will be opened to permit holders, with normal rules around blue badge parking still applying.

Car park users are encouraged to arrive earlier and look at alternative parking arrangements to ensure they able to park their vehicle. Longer stay parking is available at nearby Mattock Lane and The Common.

The maintenance work will also see improvements to the car park’s stairwells, with this work due for completion later in the year.
