Statement - Christchurch, New Zealand attack

Commenting on the New Zealand mosque attacks, Cllr Julian Bell, leader of Ealing Council, said: “My thoughts and prayers are with those  affected by the senseless murder of innocent people worshiping at mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand.  Diversity and cohesion remain our great strengths and we stand together with communities everywhere opposing extremism in all its forms.

“People across Ealing will be attending prayers today and I want to reassure our Muslim residents that there will be extra police patrols outside our mosques.

“If anyone notices anything suspicious they should report it to the police on 999 or the counter terror hotline on 0800 789 321.”
