The 100 in 100 campaign, which runs until 9 December, is a drive to create job opportunities for people by giving them access to quality employment and related training.
Employers can pledge to recruit an apprentice by applying online, or by contacting the council’s apprenticeship team, which will also be on hand to provide practical support, information and advice to companies who want to create apprenticeship vacancies.
Councillor Jasbir Anand, cabinet member for businesses and community services said: “Preparing people for the future is a key priority for us and apprenticeships offer the hands-on experience that is needed for them to succeed.
"With a wide range of industries around the borough, I hope that employers can recruit people and give them the experience they need to help build their workforce. We hope that they can support our bid and help us not only reach the target, but to go beyond that and recruit over 100 apprentices in 100 days.”
