£250 on offer to local landlords

Landlords that work with the council can also expect to receive a range of valuable benefits when they sign up.

Two cost-effective and hassle-free ways to rent properties to pre-approved local tenants team are on offer. Existing landlords that successfully recommend a new landlord to the council will receive £250 when the new landlord signs up to either scheme for a two-year tenancy.

The council would like to hear from landlords with properties to rent in the borough of Ealing, or in surrounding areas. All landlords can expect to receive a range of benefits including zero commission, help with completing paperwork and a free inspection with advice on grants available for improvements.

Landlords could also benefit from a rent insurance or guarantee, up to 16 weeks rent incentive when the tenant moves in or £500 up front for every year of the lease and ongoing tenancy management, depending on the scheme chosen.

Full details on the £250 incentive scheme, and the range of benefits on offer to landlords, are available on the council’s website.

Councillor Jasbir Anand, cabinet member for housing, said: “Many landlords are looking for a secure, hassle-free method of renting their properties out to trusted tenants who will treat their homes with respect. This is exactly what we are offering.

"Good landlords will know other good landlords and we are asking them for a valuable introduction. In return, we are offering long-term benefits and incentives that reward landlords who make the decision to help people in genuine need to stay in their local area.

“We have local working families who are looking now for somewhere to call home and local landlords can help. When they sign up with us, they will do so knowing that they are making a sound business decision, as well as helping a local family.”
