Business recovery support

Business support programmes

A range of free support is now available to small and medium-sized businesses based in Ealing.

Designed to help businesses survive and thrive, it includes one-to-one support, diagnostics and advice sessions, series of webinars on a wide range of topics, peer-to-peer learning groups and networking sessions with other local businesses. 

These support programmes are funded through government’s Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG), aimed at supporting businesses impacted by Covid-19.

Three programmes of support are now open:

Ealing Trades Online

September 2021 - March 2022
To help businesses with little or no online presence to get noticed and start trading online.

Ealing Council has partnered with SaveTheHighStreet.org and UpSkill Digital to offer a unique programme of free digital support to small businesses in Ealing.

This programme will help you to:

  • Improve your online presence
  • Build a website
  • Learn how to use digital tools to save time
  • Grow your audience on social media
  • Run a crowdfunding campaig
  • Produce engaging video content
  • Offer your customers local delivery
  • Implement cyber security
  • Rank higher on Google
  • Sell through online marketplaces and much more.

You will receive one-to-one support and have access to a number of webinars on different topics.

Who is the programme for?

Businesses:

  • Based in Ealing, including self-employed, sole traders, co-operatives and social enterprises
  • From any sector, employing no more than 249 employees
  • Operating for at least one year.

Ealing Business Accelerator   

October 2021 - March 2022
The programme is designed for new and existing businesses to survive and grow. It includes one-to-one support to develop strategies for improvement (also known as business diagnostics support), peer-to-peer learning groups and a range of online webinars.

The council is working with Smorgasbord, a team of experienced business advisors, to provide small and medium-sized businesses in Ealing a range of business tools and advice.

You can expect personalised one-to-one consultations on Zoom, online group learning discussions, marketing sessions and various webinars on topics such as:

  • From business idea to business model – how to do it 
  • Building resilience through planning (recovering fromCovid-19 lockdowns and Brexit)
  • From ‘Start Up’ to ‘Scale Up’ – best options to fund the growth of your businessGrowth hack-ing – supercharge your recovery
  • Delivering standout sales pitches
  • Putting the customer first (customer focussed marketing sessions).

One-to-one sessions

You can book free 45-minute one-to-one consultations with an experienced advisor on various topics relevant to your business. Taking place every Thursday from 9am to 1pm, the first one is a business diagnostic session and the second one - a follow-up review and planning call. Various times available.

Webinars
  • From start-up to scale-up: best options to fund the growth of your business - Thursday, 25 November 2pm - 3pm - find out more about small to medium sized business funding and accessing finance for your business.
  • Growth hacking - supercharge your recovery - Thursday, 2 December 2pm - 3pm - learn what growth hacking is and how you can apply it in new product innovation and continuous improvement of your products or service, as well as to growing an existing customer base.
  • Deliverying a standout sales pitch - Thursday, 9 December 2pm - 3pm - this selling webinar delves into the sales pitch, the process and how selling today is not about pushing, but about people and positioning you, your product/service and process in a balanced partnership that solves a problem.

Ealing Winning Tenders 

October 2021 - March 2022
To equip businesses with the skills and knowledge for winning tenders and new contracts.

Ealing Council has partnered up with Bid Perfect to bring several online two-day bid skills workshops to help businesses with knowledge and skills to win new business by planning and writing bid (tender) responses. They will also deliver various online Bid Clinics to discuss bidding for tenders.

Online bid skills workshops

Book two full-day workshops (a week apart) to learn how to win new business by planning and writing compelling bid (tender) responses. There are a range of dates for you to choose from up until March 2022.

Online bid clinics

You can also book a one-hour session to discuss your approach to writing bids, analyse a failed bid, ask questions or receive some personal one-to-one coaching. Various dates and times are available up until March 2022.
