Staff will continue to help people who are at risk of homelessness, as the law requires.
To minimise the spread of infection the customer service centre is shut and homelessness assessments and appointments are being carried out by telephone.
If you are at risk of homelessness and do not have a current application, you should call our reception team on 020 8825 6444, for advice.
If you already have an application and a case officer, you should ring that officer direct. Officers are often busy conducting telephone interviews, so if you cannot reach your case officer, you should call one of the duty numbers 020 8825 8881 or 020 8825 8888.
While we are under additional restrictions because of coronavirus, the government has stopped evictions from rented homes, except for cases where tenants have caused very serious problems.
If you have received a Notice from your landlord, of intention to seek possession, you should contact us for advice, using the telephone number 020 8825 6444. The Notice period for all newly served Notices from August 2020 has changed.
The period of Notice must now be at least 6 months.
It is important to avoid becoming homeless, so this extended period will give us the chance to help you to resolve problems with your landlord, with the aim of your being allowed to keep your tenancy, Or otherwise, it will give us a longer time within which to help you to find another tenancy, which meets your needs.
