Sheltered housing officers normally visit each sheltered housing scheme daily to carry out a welfare check face-to-face.
In light of the COVID-19 emergency all welfare checks for sheltered housing tenants will take place by intercom or telephone. This is to ensure that social distancing takes place tand that we reduce any risk of spreading the virus. All sheltered housing tenants have already been contacted to advise them of this change.
If, for any reason, a sheltered housing officer was not able to speak to the resident, we will attempt to contact their relatives to confirm that the tenant is okay. The sheltered housing officer will only visit the property if we are unable to get any response.
Weekly health and safety checks will continue, and information of any changes will still be communicated to tenants.
The situation will be regularly reviewed during this period.
