Reading groups and books clubs

Ealing Libraries support a number of local reading groups or book clubs.

What is a reading group?

A reading group (or book club) is a group of people who meet regularly to discuss books.

The following reading groups are self-run and meet in libraries. The groups meet monthly or every four weeks. Usually the groups plan in advance and agree a list of books to read, subject to availability of copies from library stock. Groups generally discuss one book each month and at each session copies of the next book are distributed.

All groups welcome new members, subject to capacity.

Interested in setting up a new book group?

If you would like to set up a new reading group and would like some support from Ealing Libraries, please contact your local library.

This could include general book groups, or groups which specialise in reading a particular genre (for example crime or science fiction), your favourite author or for particular groups of people.

We would particularly like to support new book groups for young people and to hear from young people who would like to have their own book group. Please contact your local library for more information.
