Children's library services

Ealing's libraries provide books and CDs for babies, toddlers, children and teenagers. From board books and nursery rhymes for babies and young children through to stories and information books for older children, we have books for all ages.

There are also children's audio books, videos and DVDs. You will need an adult to borrow these for you.

Children aged 0-10 years can borrow 10 items, and 11-16 year olds can borrow 15 items. Most libraries hold toddlers' storytime sessions for children under five, and baby bounce 'n' rhyme for little ones to enjoy rhymes and songs in the library each week. Children under the age of eight must be accompanied and supervised at all times by a parent, carer or suitable responsible adult over the age of 16.

Children and family events are held in every library including the summer, half term and Easter holidays. The activities include craft sessions, story telling and visits by authors and book characters.  Every year your local library invites children aged 4-11 to join the Summer Reading Challenge. You can read six books over the summer and win prizes. All the libraries have computers you can use for free. You can play games or do your homework.

There are study guides and books to help with your school work including GCSEs. When you want to read for pleasure there are books by all your favourite authors as well as joke books, comic books, graphic novels, Manga and books on sport and other leisure interest.  Most libraries have a study area if you need some peace and quiet.
