What is MECC?
MECC is a technique that uses our combined millions of small daily conversations to have a positive effect on each other's health and wellbeing.
Many illnesses are linked to known risk factors, like tobacco, high blood pressure, alcohol, being overweight or being physically inactive.
Making changes such as stopping smoking, improving diet, increasing physical activity, losing weight and reducing alcohol consumption can help us to significantly reduce our risk of poor health. Nagging does not work but MECC can!
- Core MECC (three hours)
Skills to ask, assess and assist people to improve their lifestyles.
- MECC with a mental health focus (three hours)
For people who work with people who are living with a mental health condition.
- 'MECC-plus' mental health supplement (one hour)
Supplementary training for those who have been MECC trained, to focus on how to 'do' MECC with people who are living with a mental health condition.
Courses are free and take place in Ealing or your workplace.
