Health and wellbeing strategy

Together in Ealing is the new health and wellbeing strategy for 2023-2028.

It is the product of a consultation led by Ealing’s Health and Wellbeing Board (HWB), to listen to local communities and residents about what is important to their health and wellbeing.

The Health and Wellbeing Board comprises of council, NHS representatives, and voluntary and community organisations in Ealing who work in partnership to improve the health and wellbeing of residents and reduce inequalities in health outcomes.

The strategy focusses specifically on reducing inequalities in the borough by addressing the ‘building blocks of health and wellbeing’. Those building blocks are the wider elements that have an impact on an individual’s health and wellbeing. These include access to a safe, secure and affordable home, green and open spaces, education, good jobs, financial security, access to services, a support network of friends and family, and connection with community. A focus on the building blocks of health will help give everyone, regardless of background or where they live, the opportunity to reach their full potential.

The new strategy will drive stronger partnership between the council and partners, better communication and connection between services, and a stronger working relationship with local communities, so that actions are tailored and bespoke to each of the seven towns.

Together in Ealing has outlined key commitments:

  • Putting communities at the heart of everything we do by having a culture of listening and learning from community conversations and developing new models of working with our local communities

  • Ensuring systems and structures leave no one behind and promote healthier opportunities to all

  • Working with partners to develop a shared practice in improving the building blocks of health by tackling the root causes of inequalities.
