Improve your confidence and wellbeing for life and work

This five-week course is designed for adults who are currently looking for employment. The course aims to enable individuals to develop their own personal skills, wellbeing and motivation to help improve their employment and skills opportunities. Each week will address a relevant topic, as well as build on previous learning and skills. Sessions will take place in a safe and supportive environment led by an experienced tutor who is able to differentiate and cater to each individual’s needs.

The course aims to enable learners to:

  • Build confidence and self-esteem
  • Deal with the strains and stresses of everyday life
  • Improve written and verbal communication skills, and present information to their peers with confidence

By the end of the course, learners will be able to:

  • Practice and apply at least five different techniques for managing anxiety and stress
  • Prepare and give a three-minute presentation on a topic of their choice
  • List 10 personal and professional strengths, and three areas they need to work on to improve self-esteem and self-awareness
  • Understand the importance of and practice two forms of non-verbal communication
  • Express their opinions and feelings with assertiveness in at least three sessions
