What happens next?

Every application is given individual consideration to make sure that sheltered housing is the most appropriate housing option for your individual needs.

All sheltered housing applications are assessed by the allocations panel. The panel consists of one or two representatives from the sheltered housing management team and the allocations team. Before a decision is made about providing sheltered housing, we may need to consider information from doctors, social services, voluntary agencies, occupational therapists or anyone who provides a service to you.

Once the applicant has been approved for sheltered housing, they will automatically become a member of the Locata scheme. This is a choice based letting system, which allows people to bid for a particular property, look out for the over 60s icon indicating sheltered housing.
