South Acton Estate

Resident involvement

The council is committed to working in partnership with residents and community organisations on the regeneration of South Acton estate.

During the selection of a partner to help the council regenerate South Acton, a resident-led developer selection group held regular meetings to give their views on proposals from a number of bidders.

The council have worked closely with Acton Gardens to organise a wide range of workshops, exhibitions and meetings to ensure the new master plan for South Acton fully reflect the views of residents.

Community Board

The Community Board is made up of residents, councillors, representatives of local groups and the regeneration partners. The Board oversee the regeneration of estate and decide how the annual community chest of £50,000 is spent to support local community groups for the benefit of everyone in South Acton. There is a resident chair, and residents are in the majority when issues are put to a vote.

Design subgroup

Reporting to the community board, the Design subgroup considers aspects of the master plan and more detailed design considerations on each phase.

Management subgroup

The management subgroup of the community board look at how the estate will be run in the future, tenancy issues and allocation of the new homes.
